Notes: Sen. Jim Risch (R), first elected in 2008, easily won a second term, defeating attorney Nels Mitchell (D). Both Risch and Mitchell had little difficulty winning their May 20 primaries. There was one debate, on Oct. 6 at KTVB-TV studios in Boise (>). According to the Center for Responsive Politics, the Risch campaign outspent the Mitchell campaign by $1,761,223 to $357,052.
