Hampshire thru June 30, 2018:
John Delaney has made nine visits
thus far. Other Democrats who have visited include J.Biden,
E.Garcetti, E.Holder, J.Merkley, M.O'Malley, T.Ryan, B.Sanders, and
A.Yang as well
as former potential candidate J.Kander.

There did not seem to be much interest in hosting the 2020 Republican
National Convention. On April 2, 2018, organizers in Charlotte,
NC submitted a bid. The other finalist city was Las
Vegas; Nevada Republicans made an effort to attract the
convention, and President Trump reportedly was interested in the idea,
advisors did not favor it. Members of the RNC's
selection committee visited Charlotte on May 16-18. The Charlotte City
approved contracts to host the Convention in a 6-5 vote on July 16 (+),
is expected to finalize the deal at its summer meeting in Austin, TX on
officially submitted a bid for the 2020 Republican National Convention.

major party held its convention this early was in 1992 when Democrats
gathered in New York City to nominate Bill Clinton, also from July
On June 20,
Politico reported that the
DNC had narrowed its list to four cities:
Houston, Miami Beach, Milwaukee and Denver, but the Denver Post then
reported Denver had withdrawn its bid because the dates would not work
for the city. Thus the three finalists are Houston, Miami Beach and Milwaukee. Site visits
are planned for August.
delegates to the 2020 Democratic National Convention will take place
following "the most significant reforms to the party’s presidential
in decades" as the DNC is implementing many of the reforms proposed by
its Unity Reform Commission (+).
