Notes:
Gov. Robert Bentley (R)  easily won a second term, defeating former U.S. Rep. Parker Griffith (D).  Griffith was elected to Congress in 2008 as a Democrat, but announced he was switching to the Republican Party in Dec. 2009.  He lost his 2010 re-election bid and a 2012 rematch and returned to the Democratic Party early in 2014.

Bentley refused to debate Griffith.  The two candidates did make back-to-back appearances at a candidate forum at the Alabama Association of County Commissioners' Annual Convention on Aug. 21 (>).
