Sen. Ron Wyden (D) defeated Lewis & Clark College law professor Jim Huffman (R) and three third party candidates.

In the May 18 primaries, seven candidates were on the Republican ballot.  Huffman finished first with 110,450 votes (41.70%) followed by Loren Later (15.01%), G. Shane Dinkel (13.88%), Thomas Stutzman (12.03%) and three others in single digits.  Wyden won 90% of the vote against two opponents.
 

Wyden and Huffman participated in two debates:  on KOBI TV 5 in Medford on Oct. 21 (>); and hosted by Portland City Club at The Governor Hotel, broadcast by Oregon Public Broadcasting and KOIN 6
, on Oct. 22.

Open Secrets reports the Wyden campaign raised $6.9 million, spent $8.5 million while the Huffman campaign raised $2.4 million and spent $2.2 million (>).  Huffman's fundraising included loans totaling $1.35 million.
