Susana Martinez
is the District Attorney from Dona Ana County where she was first elected in 1996. She is an effective prosecutor and just named Prosecutor of the Year. As governor, she will bring the bold change New Mexico needs to root out corruption, cut spending and end job killing taxes.

"WOMAN OF THE YEAR"

Heart Magazine named Susana "Woman of the Year" in 2007 for her work supporting Katie's Law. Katie's Law is named after 22-year old college student Katie Sepich, whose killer Susana sent to prison. The law requires DNA samples from individuals arrested for most felony offenses to help bring rapists and murderers to justice.

FIGHTING CORRUPTION

When it comes to fighting corruption in government, Susana Martinez has
a real record. Her office prosecuted and convicted corrupt public officials, including the Dona Ana County Clerk and a Sunland Park municipal judge.

FIGHTS FOR VICTIMS

Susana Martinez has made a career of fighting for victims and taking on tough cases. She specializes in prosecuting child abuse and child homicide cases to give a voice to those who don't have one.

SECURE BORDERS

Susana Martinez handles over 600 cases related to border security every year and she knows the importance of having a secure border. Susana believes that securing our border starts with ending sanctuary policies like giving driver's licenses to criminal illegal immigrants.

Susana - On the Issues

CREATING JOBS

Susana Martinez knows that government doesn't create jobs, small businesses do. As governor, she'll fight to end job killing taxes and help all small businesses grow.

IMPROVING EDUCATION

Education in New Mexico constantly ranks at the bottom of national lists. This is unacceptable. As governor, Susana will work to ensure more money goes directly into the classroom – where it can actually help students – instead of to a wasteful bureaucracy.

CONTROL GOVERNMENT SPENDING

Out of control government spending leads to higher taxes and in the last 7-years, spending has increased by over 50%. As governor, Susana Martinez will rein in wasteful spending, make government more efficient and keep taxes low to put New Mexico back on solid fiscal ground.

John Sanchez for Lt. Governor

NATIVE NEW MEXICAN
John can trace his roots back to his great, great grandfather who was a territorial legislator from northern New Mexico. John and his wife Debra reside in Albuquerque with their two grown daughters.

SUCCESSFUL SMALL BUSINESSMAN

John is an award-winning businessman. He has operated his company for over 27 years and is highly respected in the business community.

PUBLIC SERVICE
John was elected as a Trustee for the Village of Los Ranches in 1998. In 2000 John took on long-time Speaker of the House, Raymond Sanchez. John defeated Raymond and went on to serve in the legislature with distinction.

In the legislature, John led the fight to protect our children by helping to pass the ban on the possession of child pornography in New Mexico.

"My vision for New Mexico is the same one that I have had for my family and for my business. Hard work, reaching for difficult goals and over performing on the basic values of integrity, trust, faith and service."
- John Sanchez
