PAUL GANN
U.S. Senate '80

California, it's time for a change...

Paul Gann
Dear Friend,
I want to talk to you about the election in November. I want to talk to you about the job we began with Proposition 13 and Proposition 4.
There is an opportunity this year to bring a new responsibility and sense of purpose to our government. The need is greater than ever before.
Americans feel that they have lost control of their ability to experience the American dream, to gain the security and prosperity for which our country is rightly known.
It is for these reasons that I am running this year for U.S. Senate, and I need your support.
The issues at stake are easy to identify —
We must lower the taxation that is eroding the economic strength of wage earners.
We must revitalize the industrial sector that was once the benchmark of the world.
We must stand fast on our commitments abroad to our allies. And we must make our enemies realize we will not retreat from our responsibilities in preserving freedom.
But, it will not be easy to bring about these goals.
In over 20 years of public life, I have never seen an easy fight.
As co-author of Proposition 13 and Proposition 4, I know what it is to lead an uphill battle ... and win. And I know the critical importance of the individual -- you — in paving the way to victory.
With all of our problems we are still the only nation under heaven that people die trying to get into instead of get out of.
     It's worth fighting for.
I want and need your vote, November 4.
Thank you, and God bless,
Paul Gann

Federal records show that since Alan Cranston went to Washington, D.C. as our Senator, he has become a millionaire. At the same time he proposes to cut Social Security aid to our elderly citizens. California needs a Senator who will go to Washington, D.C. to serve millions, not make millions.
