Angela Marsden, owner of Pineapple Hill Saloon & Grill in Sherman Oaks, was much in the news in Dec. 2020 after posting an emotional video about the effects of COVID restrictions on her business (>); she sued Newsom.  Marsden noted she is unvaccinated due to a health issue and said Newsom is "dividing us between vaccinated and unvaccinated."
Renee Bailey, mother of two children who works full time, decried the broken educational system.
Christy said she started working with Newsom's office about "how could we open schools safely?" but came to realize some of the proposed responses to COVID had "nothing to do with safety."  She cited in particular the UTLA document from July 2020 "Same Storm, but Different Boats (>)."
Sharon McKeeman, founder of Let Them Breathe, based in Carlsbad, came to wonder "is my son going to survive?" amid the COVID restrictions.  On June 22, 2021 her group and another group filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court in San Diego against Gov. Newsom and officials over student mask mandates.
