Bill Bryant for Governor It's Time BILL BRYANT is a lifelong Washingtonian. He's built a company, BCI, that operates on both sides of the mountains and helps farmers and agricultural companies export their crops. He is recognized as an innovative, local government leader, a conservationist, and is a candidate for governor. Bill wants every kid, regardless of where they grow up, to have equal access to an excellent education. That means fully funding education, embracing innovation, and reinventing the last two years of high school so that it is relevant to what kids want to do after they graduate. As a Port of Seattle Commissioner representing King County, Bill Bryant cut taxes, focused on keeping family wage jobs in Washington, and on fixing our state's transportation system. In 1989, Bill married Barbara Feasey, who grew up in Longview. They lived in Yakia, where Bill opened new export markets for Washington's apples, pears, and cherries. Twenty-four years ago Bill and Barbara moved from Yakima to Seattle, where Bill founded BCI in their basement with a phone an a fax machine. For Bill Bryant it comes down to this: funding 21st Century schools and teachers; generating family-wage jobs, eliminating traffic jams, restoring salmon, steelhead, and orca populations; scrutinizing an unguided bureaucracy; making government better, not bigger. "Bill Bryant is optimistic. He pulls people together and finds solutions that move us forward."
