David works hard to truly represent us in  the U.S. Senate. He's held over 370 town hall meetings in every Louisiana parish as well as 176 telephone town halls. He's refused Congress' lucrative Obamacare subsidy and retirement benefits, and he's fighting to make Washington live under the same Obamacare rules as everyone else. In the state legislature, David passed term limits, criminal justice reform, and more.

David and his wife Wendy have four children and live in Metairie.

Leading us as Governor will be David's last political job, elected or appointed, period. He wants to take on Louisiana's most important challenges, not play politics with them.
 
Education. David will boost reading skills in the early grades; ensure local control of curriculum and course material; empower parents and school-based leaders; emphasize skills training opportunities in high school; and stabilize higher ed funding.

Highways and Traffic Relief. David will make highway construction and traffic relief a real priority through pro-growth tax reform and spending reform. He'll tackle Baton Rouge-area congestion, I-49, deficient bridges, and more.

lllegal Immigration. David will continue to fight for strong immigration enforcement and against the Obama Administration dumping the growing problem on Louisiana and other states.

Corruption and Cronyism. David's a proven reform leader for term limits and against the Washington exemption from Obamacare. He'll root out the corruption and cronyism that has long held Louisiana back.
