Brochure,  8 1/2" x 8 1/2".

Dear Friend:

I learned from my Mom and Dad that Nebraska is a very special place to live, to work and to raise a family. My Dad worked for J.C. Penney so we had the opportunity to live in a number of communities across Nebraska—Falls City, Fairbury, McCook, Benkelman and Wahoo.

My Mom and Dad instilled in my brothers, my sister and me the Nebraska values that we treasure in this state.

Nebraska is my home and as your Governor, I am working hard to make our state an even better place to live, to work and to raise a family. We have a great state and I am committed to making it better for our children and grandchildren.

We must grow our economy and expand job opportunities for young people and middle class families. We must continue to strengthen and prioritize education.

Additionally, we need to protect our families and communities. Our quality of life is what makes Nebraska special.

I love being your Governor and I have the energy, enthusiasm and passion to do this job from sunup to sundown. Send me a letter or an email with your thoughts and ideas about Nebraska's future. I'll read every one of them.

I need your support and your help. I would be honored to have your vote. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Dave Heineman
Dave Heineman
Governor

"Nebraska's future should be about easing the tax burden on families, creating jobs, providing first-class educational opportunities for our students and making the good life even better. As your Governor, that's my focus today, tomorrow and into the future."

TAXES
Governor Heineman wants to continue to ease the tax burden on Nebraska's families and businesses. Three years ago, he worked with the legislature to pass the largest tax relief package in the history of the State. They repealed the estate tax, eliminated the marriage penalty, repealed the sales tax on construction labor, and lowered income taxes.

Because of Governor Heineman's leadership, Nebraska is receiving national attention. Our state is on many 'Best Of and Top 10' lists including Best States for Business (Forbes.corn), Top 10 States Where Struggling Americans Can Find a Fresh Start (BusinessWeek.com) and Top 10 Pro-Business State (Pollina Corporate Real Estate).

ECONOMY/JOBS
Over the last five years Governor Heineman has worked hard to make Nebraska more competitive. He set out on a long-term course for prosperity and growth; lowered taxes, controlled state spending and saved for a rainy day. Governor Heineman has worked hard on job creation and now Nebraska has the one of the lowest unemployment rate in America.

EDUCATION
Providing first class educational opportunities for Nebraska students is the key to Nebraska's future success and prosperity. Governor Heineman supports local control, high academic standards and increased parental involvement.

FAMILIES
Governor Heineman has strengthened and protected our families and our Nebraska values. He signed into law tough anti-meth legislation that stiffens penalties for meth dealers and manufacturers. Governor Heineman is pro-life and strongly believes in the culture of life. He believes marriage is between a man and a woman because strong families are the foundation of our future.

AGRICULTURE
Governor Heineman is a leader for Nebraska's agricultural industry. He understands the link between a successful agriculture industry and economic development. He knows that agriculture is the backbone of Nebraska's economy.

As Governor, he secured a $400 million trade agreement with Taiwan for Nebraska wheat, soybeans and corn. He also signed two $30 million trade agreements with Cuba for Nebraska wheat, soybeans, dry beans, pork and beef. Under his watch, Nebraska has also opened its first-ever international trade office abroad in Tokyo, Japan.

Governor Heineman is a strong supporter of the ethanol industry which has created hundreds of jobs for rural communities. He supports accelerated wind energy development.
