"We must close tax loopholes and make the rich pay their fair share, so we can balance our budget and create good jobs here in Minnesota."

– Mark Dayton

Create Good Minnesota Jobs

Minnesota's workers and businesses are struggling in this difficult economy. We need innovative leadership to promote economic growth and help create new and better jobs. Mark Dayton has experience bringing together business, labor, and community leaders to work together and move Minnesota ahead.

As state Energy and Economic Development Commissioner, Mark worked with businesses, encouraging them to invest in Minnesota and create good-paying jobs with benefits that can support families. As Governor, he will work hard to help create jobs with a state bonding bill, increased investments in highway construction and public transit projects, and making Minnesota a leader in green energy research and manufacturing.

Invest in Excellent Education

Companies are attracted to Minnesota because of our good quality of life and excellent public schools, colleges and universities. Over the past eight years, we have suffered drastic funding cuts that threaten Minnesota's tradition of educational excellence.

As Governor, Mark will close tax loopholes so we can make the rich pay their fair share, balance the budget and restore funding to our schools – ensuring a well educated workforce and a strong economic future for all our children.

Cut Waste and Eliminate the Deficit

When Mark Dayton was State Auditor, he was called the "Taxpayers' Watchdog." He's the only candidate for Governor with a real plan to balance the state's budget. He'll close tax loopholes, so the rich pay their fair share. He will use an auditor's eye to examine carefully every dollar in the state budget to make certain it is absolutely necessary and that people are getting their money's worth. He will streamline government reporting and eliminate the unnecessary duplication of government regulation.

Mark learned from his business family that hard work, accountability, and customer satisfaction are keys to retailing success. As Governor, he will put those values to work for Minnesota taxpayers. That's a Dayton's Guarantee!
