PITTSBURGH, Pa.—  Dr. Jo Jorgensen, the Libertarian presidential nominee, will be attending campaign rallies this weekend in several Pennsylvania cities, to thank supporters and especially petitioners striving to place her on the ballot in the State of Independence.

The tour follows on the heels of Tuesday's Third Circuit ruling denying relief for the Libertarian Party (LP) and alternative parties (Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania v. Governor, 20-2481). America’s third-largest party, the LP is striving to reprise their 50-state (plus D.C.) ballot access this year. 

Jorgensen’s state campaign coordinator, Sam Robb of Pittsburgh, acknowledged the court decision was unfortunate. "It seems that every other state has realized that physical petitioning in COVID times is a bad idea," said Robb. "It’s going to be hard, but if we keep up the pace we've been seeing over the past week, we will make it—and provide Pennsylvania voters a candidate they can vote for enthusiastically."

Dr. Jorgensen expressed thanks to her supporters in advance of her Saturday arrival. "I am inspired by the hard work of Pennsylvania libertarians and other supporters of this campaign who are petitioning to get us on the ballot in this key state, under the most trying of circumstances," she said. "Gathering the volume of signatures we need in Pennsylvania has always been a challenge. Adding a pandemic to the equation makes every one of these activists a hero, in my mind. I look forward to thanking them in person this weekend."

Jorgensen’s platform calls for ending the war on drugs, bringing U.S. troops home from foreign wars, drastically slashing federal spending, and allowing for a truly free market in health care, with competition and the resultant lower prices.

Jorgensen's vice-presidential running mate, Jeremy “Spike” Cohen, will be visiting cities in eastern Pa. starting Friday, while Jorgensen will focus on the western part of the state, Saturday through Monday. They will turn in their ballot petitions on Monday morning at the state capitol.
