Medicare For All -
How it Helps You and How We Win

When it comes to healthcare, we in the U.S. worry about things that are not a concern in other industrialized countries:

Will we be able to afford the care we need from our doctors and healthcare providers?

Medicare For All ends that worry by guaranteeing healthcare to everyone

That Means:
•    No insurance premiums, no deductibles, no copays, and no out of pocket expenses
•    No surprise medical bills
•    No networks to navigate
•    No confusing plans with complex rules
•    Nobody pays more than $200 a year for prescription drugs
•    AII benefits covered - medical, prescription drugs, mental health, dental, vision, long-term home healthcare and all services for people with disabilities
•    Your choice of doctor and healthcare provider

Under Medicare For All, you will pay a lot less than you are paying now; and you'II never see a surprise medical bill again! You do not have to pay out of pocket before your insurance starts to pay, no payment out of pocket to see a doctor, and no premium paid to an insurance company. Based on your income, a deduction to cover all your healthcare would be taken from each paycheck; you could also pay quarterly or annually, based on your source of income. Either way, you will pay much less than you do now. There will be no more large medical bills.

What a difference from all the hassles, costs, fragmentation and waste of the present system.

Here's How We Transition To Medicare For All:

1.    In the first year, we will lower the eligibility age for Medicare from 65 down to 55. We will expand Medicare to cover hearing, vision, dental and long-term home healthcare. And we will fully cover every child in America from 0-18. Everyone else will be eligible to enroll in a new Medicare Transition Plan.

2.    In the second year, the Medicare eligibility age is lowered to 45.

3.    In the third year, the Medicare eligibility age is lowered to 35.

4.    In the fourth year, everyone in America will be enrolled in Medicare for AII. Premiums, deductibles and co-payments will be eliminated.

How You Are Protected

*     Beginning in the fourth year, everyone will automatically be enrolled in the improved and expanded Medicare for AII program - no confusing websites or plans to navigate.

*     There will be no gap between your coverage and your new, comprehensive coverage that includes long-term home healthcare services, as well as dental, vision, hearing and mental health treatment.

*     Your spending on prescription drugs will be limited to$200 a year (All pharmacies already accept Medicare plans).

*    Every hospital in the US accepts Medicare.

*    The transition is easy for doctors and other providers, virtually all of whom already accept public plans - either Medicare or Medicaid, children's health insurance or federal employee insurance.

*    Tri-Care is replaced by the new Medicare program for active duty military; expanded eligibility for VA benefits, eliminating the 5 year service requirement.

Like At Other Times In Our History, when we as a nation realize we must make fundamental change or rebuild a broken system, millions of us stand up together with leadership that gets the issue, gets what working people are experiencing, and champions the change we demand.

ln healthcare, President Obama was the first president since the 1960's to win a victory toward achieving universal healthcare. Now, we have a way to complete that victory and fulfill the promise: a movement demanding Medicare For AII, and a champion for it, Senator Bernie Sanders.

That's how we win - a popular demand and a people's champion.
