With almost five weeks left until Election Day, Biden for President Texas is in a strong position to send Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House. Joe Biden has helped boost down-ballot Democratic energy -- not only does Texas have a competitive Senate race, but one-third of the state population lives in a targeted congressional district, and one-fifth of the state lives in a competitive State House district.
Texans know that President Trump is all hat and no cattle. From his mismanagement of the COVID-19 crisis and the economic crisis that has followed his efforts to sabotage millions of Texans’ healthcare when they need it most. Trump has made people’s lives worse.
Texas is ready for a real leader -- and Joe Biden is the right candidate with the right message for voters and the right vision for the future. He cares about issues important to voters, like stopping the spread of COVID, the economy, and health care.
Across the state, our campaign is running a voter contact program focused on quality conversations with voters across Texas to meet voters where they are and earn every vote.
Joe Biden is the leader Texas needs
-
● Donald Trump is uniquely unpopular in Texas. 2016 was the first time in two decades that Texas became a single-digit state. In 2018, Democrats came within 2.5 points of flipping a U.S Senate seat, turned two congressional seats from red to blue, elected the first two Latinas to Congress, and picked up 12 seats in the state legislature.
-
● A surge in Democratic energy down-ballot is boosted with Joe Biden on the ticket. Texas Democrats have yet another competitive Senate race, the most congressional targets in the country, and are nine seats shy of flipping the Texas House ahead of redistricting.
-
● Joe Biden’s message is resonating with Texas voters. During the pandemic, Texas voters relate to Biden’s empathy, authenticity, and stability. Biden is within an average margin of 3.5 points in recent polls, with the majority of Texans disapprove of how Trump managed the coronavirus response. Texas was one of the worst-hit states for COVID-19.

We aren’t taking a single Texan for granted
-
● Tens of thousands of volunteers have participated in our virtual events, phonebanks, text banks, and meetings--in the last two months, we have conducted outreach to more than 11 million voters.
-
● We’re mobilizing over 2M newly registered voters since 2016, the majority of whom are women and people of color, including individuals in traditionally Republican suburban districts that flipped for Democrats in 2018.
-
● Biden for President has recruited a battle-tested staff of led by two Latinas from South Texas and diverse Texas-based operatives all across the state. Our coalition directors will engage and activate key communities, Latino voters, Asian-Americans, Black Americans, labor, and rural communities.
-
● Texas has the fastest growing AAPI community in the country. In the past month, Biden for President Texas held over 22 events reaching over 1,800 unique individuals, texted nearly 100,000 South Asian voters and called 16,000 voters.
-
● In July, Joe Biden launched his first general-election TV ads in Texas as part of a four-state ad buy with a 60-second spot in Texas that addresses the increasingly dire coronavirus situation.
-
● Last month, we announced new Spanish language ads in Texas that display Trump’s failed policies, and direct quotes from when Trump let down the community.

Where we go from here
-
● In the coming weeks, you will see our campaign mobilize our resources to ensure that Texans can make their voices heard at the ballot box -- whether that is via mail or in person.
-
● We will also be conducting lit drops and have operational supply centers across the state to ensure that voters can get the information they need about our campaign no matter where in Texas they live.
-
● And you will see our campaign continue to meet voters where they are. We will use all of the tools at our disposal -- including utilizing voices that speak directly and thoughtfully to Texans via our surrogate program, local media engagement, paid media, and more -- to persuade and mobilize every eligible voter to cast their ballot for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
-
● We have voters’ backs every step of the way. Voters can call our Voter Assistance Hotline at 844-TX-VOTES to get help with any voting question or issue. Additionally, Democratic poll watchers will be at polling places throughout the early voting period and on Election Day to advocate for voters and make sure every eligible voter can have their voice heard.
There are less than 36 days until November 3rd, and Biden for President Texas will use every one of them to persuade and mobilize Texans to cast their ballot for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
