Biden Campaign Attacks Club for Growth Action Following Release of Ad and Poll

Down in Polls, Former V.P.’s Campaign Continues to Ignore His Questionable Record

Following the release of Club for Growth PAC’s polling and Club for Growth Action’s television advertisement on former V.P. Joe Biden’s long and questionable record, the Biden campaign is now attacking Club for Growth Action and fundraising using selective editing and revisionist history.
In the fundraising email, the Biden campaign quotes a Reuters article on some recent Club for Growth PAC polling. What the fundraising email doesn’t do is include the full text of the article or even provide a hyperlink because they don’t want voters to know about the substance of the ad and polling.

“According to our polling, many Democratic primary voters have lots of questions about Joe Biden’s record, and if he wants to be the nominee, he’s going to have to figure out how to stop ignoring them and start answering them because they aren’t going away,” said Club for Growth Action President David McIntosh.

Club for Growth PAC released a poll on the Democratic Presidential primary and specific message testing on Biden showing he is vulnerable based on past statements on slavery reparations, desegregation, and school busing. Based on the poll, Club for Growth Action also released a television advertisement on Biden’s record which will air in Iowa on Thursday, June 27, the second night of the Democratic debates.

Factchecking and Live-Tweeting the Democratic Presidential Primary Debates

Tonight and tomorrow's Democratic presidential primary debates mark the first of the 2020 campaign and will surely touch on fiscal issues.

We're launching our US Budget Watch 2020 project tonight, which will factcheck candidates' claims and estimate the fiscal costs of their proposals. During the 2016 campaign cycle – through our Fiscal FactChecks and signature report Promises and Price Tags – we tallied the cost of every significant proposal from the major presidential candidates.

We'll be factchecking the budget-related claims at our Fiscal FactCheck page and live-tweeting using the Twitter handle @BudgetHawks. You can check out a live Twitter feed below:

Friend,

The Democrats are holding their first presidential debate tonight and we have just the thing for you to have some fun during the 2 hours of far-left, radical rhetoric that’ll be a sad combination of promoting socialist policies and unhinged attacks on President Trump:

Through our months of research and tracking, we’ve become pretty familiar with candidates’ go-to statements, grand hand gestures, and much more. We had fun putting this together and we’re sure you’ll enjoy putting it to use. Download the Debate Bingo Board here.

But don’t worry, if you’d rather focus on the details of the reckless socialist agendas these candidates will promote, we’ll also be fact checking the candidates in real time on our Debate Live Blog. Follow along here beginning at 9pm EST.

Get Your Debate Party BINGO On!

Popcorn, BINGO from your living room, and presidential debates!

Want in?

The first Presidential debates will happen this Wednesday and Thursday at 9pm ET / 6pm PT. In order to make watching fun and powerful, we've created a BINGO card to help you track whether or not the issues of greatest concern to women, moms, and families are covered from the comfort of your home.

**So gather together (your gathering can be you and popcorn, or you and your child, or you and your neighbor you get the picture!) and have a virtual party with us on Wednesday and/or Thursday nights.

*Click here to tell us "I'm in!" for a virtual BINGO party (even a party of one counts!) and we'll email you our powerful BINGO card:  https://action.momsrising.org/signup/play-presidential-debate-bingo-us/

(Just click the link above and we'll email a special link to the BINGO card directly to your inbox.  You can be a BINGO party of one, one hundred, or a million!

Play BINGO in real time on Twitter with @MomsRising and @MamasConPoder at #MomBINGO and #WeCareDebate. Join us!

*Here's how it works: Just print out the BINGO card of your choice from the link above (or have it up on your computer screen without printing it out). Then every time a candidate talks about one of the issues on the card, you can mark it down on the BINGO card--and maybe even raise a juice box or sippy cup in a cheer!

This BINGO card is powerful and reflects the priorities we’re hearing from moms and families across the nation. In fact, each square on the BINGO card represents a priority from our newly released “Mom Platform: Mom Crafted, Mom Approved” -- a comprehensive, mom-powered policy platform that we’ll be giving to every candidate for President. And by “Mom Crafted” we mean crafted by YOU!

We’re not kidding: Moms, dads, and families from across the country are lending their expertise and lived experiences to inform, craft, and build the Mom Platform. Moms are joining conference calls, sharing stories, and filling out surveys to ensure this platform meets the high standards (and needs and demands) of families across the nation. And we condensed this information from the Mom Platform into the priorities you see listed on the BINGO card. (Thank you to everyone who’s working on this together!).

All of this makes the BINGO card a great, powerful, and fun way to track if the issues that are important to women, moms, dads, kids, and families make it onto center stage during the debates. We'll be tracking issues like fair pay, access to healthcare, fair treatment of immigrant families, child care, criminal justice reform, gun safety, and other family economic and justice policies. And we'll also be tracking standing ovations, laughs, and even scowls! It'll be fun!

Here's how it works: Every time a candidate talks about one of the issues on the card, you can mark it down on the BINGO card--and maybe even raise a juice box or sippy cup in a cheer!

Why BINGO? It's not just about fun (although we're all for fun!), playing BINGO is also about standing up and being counted! We'll be letting leaders and the media know that moms, dads, kids, and even cats and dogs are watching and listening carefully to what they say about the issues we prioritize. So when you click the link to get your BINGO card, we'll add you to our tally of people who are watching for the issues that moms prioritize to be covered. This way we can let leaders and the media know that people across the nation want to keep these issues in the spotlight for longer than the duration of any one debate!

So, get your debate BINGO party on! You can even use it as a fun "teachable" moment with your kids about the importance of public participation.

*Click here to grab your BINGO card in English or in Spanish for a virtual BINGO party (even a party of one counts!)

For our part, we can't wait to play the game (And you’re invited to play in real time with us on Twitter and Facebook with us at @MomsRising and @MamasConPoder at #MomBINGO and #WeCareDebate), to sit down and tally up the marks on our BINGO cards -- and to keep letting leaders and the media know that moms are paying attention.

*Here's that link again to say "I'm in" for watching the debates and, most importantly, for getting your super fun and highly powerful BINGO card: action.momsrising.org/signup/play-presidential-debate-bingo-us/

Enjoy BINGO!

Alzheimer's is bigger than politics

UsAgainstAlzheimer’s is calling on the moderators of the first 2020 presidential debate to ask candidates about their plans to address the Alzheimer’s crisis. Join us.

Hi Eric,

The 2020 elections will be here before you know it – and as you read this, presidential candidates are making key policy platform decisions that could shape the course of Alzheimer’s disease if they are elected.

Each of the Republicans and Democrats running for president need to understand that Alzheimer’s disease is one of the greatest health crises facing Americans today. Next week, 20 Democrats will take to the debate stage to discuss issues of national importance. Leaving Alzheimer’s out of the conversation would be unconscionable.

UsAgainstAlzheimer’s is calling on the moderators of the first Democratic presidential debate to ask candidates how they would address the Alzheimer’s crisis if they were elected – and we need 10,000 citizen co-signers to add their names to our petition before the first debate on June 26. Click here to add your name now.

NBC Must Address the Alzheimer's Crisis in the June Democratic Debates

Across the country, millions of Americans have been personally affected by the toll of Alzheimer’s, either as patients or as caregivers. Before we vote in November 2020, we deserve the opportunity to evaluate the plans that candidates from both parties have developed to promote brain health, prevent new cases of Alzheimer’s, and accelerate a cure.

When 20 candidates step on the Democratic debate stage next week, it will be our first opportunity to hold each of them accountable for a solution to the Alzheimer’s crisis – and to put them on record about their commitment to critical policy issues like increasing funding for research.

Help us put the eyes of the nation on Alzheimer’s disease. Sign our petition before June 26 and demand that the Democratic debate moderators include a question about Alzheimer’s disease in the first debates.

Thank you,

UsAgainstAlzheimer’s

LCV CALLS ON NBC NEWS, MSNBC, TELEMUNDO DEBATE MODERATORS TO PRIORITIZE CLIMATE

Washington, D.C. — In response to NBC’s announcement that José Diaz-Balart, Savannah Guthrie, Lester Holt, Rachel Maddow and Chuck Todd will moderate the first 2020 Democratic debate in Miami on June 26 and 27, the League of Conservation Voters issued the following statement from Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld:

“From devastating floods to more intense hurricanes to deadly wildfires, it is clear that the climate crisis is one of epic proportions, and it is imperative that climate change be front and center at the upcoming debate in Miami and in every presidential debate. Any discussion of the economy and job creation, public health and the environment, racial justice, or national security should include a discussion of climate change.”

“In poll after poll, addressing the climate crisis is one of the very top priorities for Democratic primary voters and caucus goers with overwhelming support for moving to 100% clean energy. We urge these esteemed moderators to ask the candidates about their plans to confront climate change beginning on day one of their presidency and continuing throughout it. The 2020 election is our last, best chance to address the climate crisis and voters deserve media coverage that takes it incredibly seriously.”
