June 20, 2018 - U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), who came to the United States from India at age 16.
U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) worked as an immigration lawyer and taught immigration law before coming to Congress.
U.S. Rep. Ruben Kihuen (D-NV)'s family came to the United States from Guadalajara, Mexico when he was a child.  He noted he just came back from a visit to the border the day before.  "America's better than putting children in cages," he said.
U.S. Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY), chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, recalled a "Macy's moment" he experienced as a kid when he became separated from his mother in the department store.  He described the policy as "psychological torture."
U.S. Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA), vice chair of the House Democratic Caucus, said the situation "could end today with one phone call from the President to the Attorney General."
U.S. Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), the veteran civl rights leader.
"We will not go away!" declared U.S. Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY).
U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) spoke of the experience of breast-feeding mothers and said, "We will not stop until this atrocity ends."
U.S. Rep. Al Green (D-TX) declared, "The American people are not going to tolerate this."  He urged, "Call the President.  Call the White House.  Call the White House."
U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) spoke of her visit to the border this past weekend.
