Notes: Gov. Jack Markell (D) was term limited.  U.S. Rep. John Carney
(D) defeated state Sen. Colin Bonini (R), and Democrats won all statewide offices.  This is the seventh straight time Democrats have won the race for governor; the last Republican to win was Mike Castle in 1988.  There was a televised debate: between Carney and Bonini on Oct. 19 at the University of Delaware in Newark (+) and a radio debate on Oct. 28 at Widener University's Delaware Law School in North Wilmington.  According to the National Institute on Money in State Politics (>), Carney outraised Bonini by almost 7:1 ($1,594,267 to $234,146).
