TEXT: The worst crisis in a generation

News Announcer 1: Breaking news tonight: the coronavirus outbreak declared a global pandemic.

News Announcer 2: Unemployment in America has gone from bad to worse.

Announcer: We've been hit hard, but we've also seen the goodness, the grit and the heart of Minnesota.  With the leadership of a governor, making the tough calls and always trying to do what's right.

Walz (clip): We said today when we have enough vaccines to vaccinate everybody we need to be ready to go...  Well that day has arrived.

Announcer: Saving lives by following the science. Leading the region in COVID response and economic recovery. Taking the first steps toward police reform. Investing in pre-K, child care, and vocational training. Moving toward 100 percent renewable energy. Cutting taxes for the middle class, while balancing every budget. Creating jobs by investing in roads and bridges and high-speed internet in every part of Minnesota.

Walz (to camera): Peggy and I asked Minnesotans to come together and make a goal line stand to fight COVID and protect the economy. The fight's not over, but we've got the ball back, we're on offense, and we're making progress. But the same people who blocked us are trying to take us backwards.

Flanagan (to camera): Their dangerous view discouraging vaccines and masking, downplaying COVID put politics ahead of science and put lives at risk.

Walz: We won't let that happen. We've got to move forward as One Minnesota.

Flanagan: Leading on COVID and keeping our children and families healthy and safe.

Walz: Growing our economy by investing in workers and small business.

Flanagan: Improving police training and accountability...

Walz: ...while tackling crime and gun violence.

Flanagan: And giving every child a world class education no matter who they are or where they live.

Walz: That's why we're running for re-election.

Flanagan: To rebuild stronger than we were before.

Walz: We hope you'll join us.
