Princess Blanding is a Black single mother of three, a public school educator, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and grassroots activist. She has her Master's Degree in K-12 Education and Supervision and her Ed.S in Educational Leadership.

Her activism began in 2018 when her brother Marcus-David Peters was killed by a policeman during his first and only mental health crisis. Since then, she has fought tirelessly for mental health access and criminal justice reform.

• Fully fund a statewide Marcus Alert System, creating mobile and stationary mental health crisis services separate from the police.

• End the for-profit nature of our healthcare system and provide Medicare for All.

• Invest in communities by guaranteeing affordable housing, eliminating food deserts, improving access to free clinics and creating anti-violence initiatives serving vulnerable populations.

• Fully fund all public schools to ensure equity across all geographical and racial lines. Ensure public educators receive competitive, professional salaries.

• Guarantee that minimum wage is a living wage tied to and adjusted with inflation, and that workers receive access to childcare and paid leave. Repeal Virginia's Right to Work status.

• Protect and expand upon safe access to abortion and provide supportive services and aid to all pregnant people regardless of choice.

• Dismantle pipelines and guarantee restoration of environmental ecology while investing in rural Virginia.

• Combat the lasting impacts of racism through ending mass incarceration, banning qualified immunity, implementing reparations and prioritizing equity and opportunity for Indigenous and Black Virginians.
