John Cox Promotes Plan for "the Largest Tax Cut in California History"
Aug. 11, 2021 - In a stop at the JW Marriott LA Live, businessman John Cox continued to promote his plan to cut state income taxes by 25-percent which he says will put $30 billion back in the hands of Californians. "Working Californians have a real problem making it in this state," Cox said. "This state is not affordable by the average working Californian and we need to make it so that people can make a living in the state, and have an affordable life and so that businesses and people don't flee the state," he said [transcript]. Cox announced the plan in Sacramento on Aug. 5. In addition to the tax cut, he would close corporate loopholes, eliminate wasteful spending and implement zero-based budgeting. Cox noted that there are just 34 days to go until Election Day. Also today, Cox's campaign released a new TV ad featuring its signature bear seated at the governor's desk. "We must have a competent governor with management experience and outsider integrity," the voiceove declares.
