PROVIDING RELIEF FOR RISING PRICES
Governor Mills stopped tax increases and worked with Republicans, Democrats and Independents to deliver $850 relief checks to more than 850,000 people and build up Maine's Rainy Day Fund to a record high. She understands that people are struggling and will continue doing everything in her power to help.

EXPANDING ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE
Janet Mills kept her promise, expanding MaineCare on her first day as Governor to provide coverage to 90,000 additional Mainers, after Paul LePage had repeatedly vetoed health care expansion. Janet also restored the Drugs for the Elderly program, helping seniors get access to affordable prescription drugs.

SUPPORTING MAINE TEACHERS AND STUDENTS
Janet Mills fully funded the state's share of K-12 education for the first time in Maine history, while also raising the minimum salary for hard-working teachers across the state.
 
PROTECTING WOMEN'S REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS
The first woman Governor of Maine, Janet Mills signed legislation requiring insurance to cover abortions, and she will never stop fighting to make sure health care decisions are made between women and their doctors - not by the government.



A 7th generation Mainer, Janet Mills was born and raised in Farmington, where she delivered newspapers and waited tables as a teenager. Janet had already built her career around public service when she met her husband Stan, a widower with five young daughters. Juggling everything as a working mom wasn't easy, but it made Janet the strong leader she is today, able to bring people together and make real progress even as Maine faces unprecedented challenges.
