MEET NANCY
Nancy Navarro, the first Latina to serve on the Montgomery County Council, has earned a reputation in our region for bold reform in key strategic areas like early care and education, public education, municipal government and economic development, with an emphasis on equity for all. As a Councilmember, former school Board member and entrepreneur, Nancy has demonstrated that she has the energy, intellect and commitment to help make Maryland a great place for all.

• SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS. As Prínce George's County Executive, Rushern Baker helped to cut violent crime by focusing on the needs of specific neighborhoods instead of increasing police presence. As Governor, he'll work to make all Marylanders safer.

• A LIVING WAGE FOR ALL. Rushern Baker raised the minimum wage in Prínce George's County to be the highest in the state while creating the most new jobs. As County Executive and County Council President, Rushern Baker and Nancy Navarro worked together to raise the minimum wage in Prince George's and Montgomery County. As Governor and Lt. Governor, they'II work to pass a livable wage across the state that enables families to afford to settle down here.

• EDUCATION. As County Executive, Rushern Baker increased teacher pay and expanded access to pre-k. Councilwoman Nancy Navarro was instrumental in establishing an early care education initiative, to expand quality, accessible and affordable child care. As Governor and Lt. Governor, they'll work to make Maryland a leader in education.

• HEALTH CARE. Rushern Baker believes everyone deserves access to high quality, affordable health care. That's why as Governor he'll work to pass Medicare for All and ensure caregivers have the support they need to care for theír loved ones.

• RACIAL EQUITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE LAW. Councílwoman Nancy Navarro authored this groundbreaking legislation that promotes equity of access for all Montgomery County residents. As Lt. Governor, she'll work to expand this statewide.

• VECINDARIOS SEGUROS. Como Ejecutivo del condado de Prince George, Rushern Baker ayudó a reducir los delitos violentos al centrarse en las necesidades de vecindarios específicos en lugar de aumentar la presencia policial. • EDUCACIÓN. Como Ejecutivo del condado, Rushern Baker aumentó el salario de los docentes y amplió el acceso a pre-k. La Concejal Nancy Navarro fue fundamental en el establecimiento de una iniciativa de cuidado infantil y educación temprana, para ampliar el cuidado infantil de calidad, accesible, y de bajo costo. Como Gobernador y Vicegobernadora, trabajarán para hacer que Maryland sea líder en educación.

• ATENCIÓN MÉDICA. Rushern Baker cree que todos merecen tener acceso a una atención médica de bajo costo y de alta calidad. Por eso, como Gobernador, trabajará para aprobar Medicare para todos y garantizar que los proveedores de cuidado de salud tengan el apoyo que necesitan para cuidar a sus seres queridos. 

• LEY DE EQUIDAD RACIAL Y JUSTICIA SOCIAL. La Concejal Nancy Navarro fue autora principal de esta ley, la primera en la región, que promueve la equidad de acceso y oportunidad para todos los habitantes del condado de Montgomery. Como Vicegobernadora, trabajará para implementarla en todo el estado.
