ENVIRONMENT

F
Has denied the reality of climate change, called it "an overstated isJue" while running for governor; failed to pass the Natural Resources Trust Fund despite voters' approval. IA natural disasters, such as the 2020 Derecho, are getting more severe, water quality is deteriorating1, and greenhouse gas emissions are expected to rise; leaving Iowans dangerously at risk.2

EDUCATION

F
Under her watch, IA fell from #1 to #20.3 Both K-12, and public universities, have been continuously underfunded during her leadership.4 Pushing vouchers to defund our public schools, which Iowans know is not best for our children.5,6

HEALTHCARE

F
Still supports the harmful privatization of Medicaid; Mental health care has deteriorated7, with less than 100 state mental health beds for a population of over 3 million people, and only two access centers, falling short of the goal to have six by 2021.8

TRANSPARENCY

F
Named "Least Transparent Administration in 30 Years"9; audited for misusing Covid funds to pay aides' salaries.10

ECONOMY AND JOBS

F
Supports an unfair 4% flat tax which benefits the super wealthy and corporations; cut unemployment benefits, a safety net for Iowa's workers. In turn, Iowa is experiencing a labor shortage as the state fails to attract workers.11

HOUSING

F
There's a need for 50,000 affordable homes in Iowa right now and that number is increasing daily; advocating to limit affordability to the most vulnerable lowans.12

WOMEN'S ISSUES

D
From attacking the right to choose, consistent closures of labor and delivery wards13, to the thousands of women forced to leave their jobs during the pandemic due to lack of childcare14; this term has been very harmful to women.

DEDICATION TO DONORS

A
Consistent work here. Prioritizes campaign donors and special interests over the needs of everyday lowans.15

PRIORITIZING EXTREME POLICIES OVER IOWANS A
Consistent work here. From pushing to privatize public schools to a flat tax; shown a commitment to her party while ignoring Iowans' needs.

COMMENTS: Repeatedly showed loyalty to corporations over Iowans. Sold out farmers to support tariffs that hurt Iowans. Consistently pushes radical policies instead of finding practical common-sense solutions. And showed real creativity and audacity taking credit for the funding that came with President Biden's American Recovery Plan Act!
