Public Education

  • Secured largest increase in teacher pay in Florida history, catapulting the average minimum salary for teachers to Top 10 in the country
  • Ensured that schools were open in 2020, when many states locked kids out of school, and avoided catastrophic learning losses as a result
  • Focused schools on educating students, not indoctrinating them, by prohibiting classroom instruction on sexual ideology in elementary schools and enforcing rules to ensure that no child will be taught to feel guilty about their race, color, sex, or national origin
  • Signed the Fairness in Women's Sports Act and preserved opportunities for female athletes to demonstrate their strength, skills, and athletic abilities in school-sponsored competitions
  • Achieved record funding for K-12 schools
  • Eliminated Common Core, ended the Florida Standards Assessments, and instituted individualized progress monitoring
  • Strengthened civics education in Florida and passed legislation to add financial literacy and money management courses to high school currículum
  • Passed the Parents' Bill of Rights to protect the rights of parents to decide what is best for the upbringing, education, and care of their child

  • Prohibited taxpayer dollars from being spent on puberty blockers and gender-altering surgery
  • lnvested nearly $1.5 billion in addiction treatment programs to combat the opioid crisis
  • Signed the No Patient Left Alone Act to ensure that no one in a hospital or assisted-living facility is barred from seeing visitors

Environmental Protection

  • Secured a record $3.3 billion to fund water quality initiatives and restoration projects in the Everglades
  • Acquired 141,935 acres of land within the Florida Wildlife Corridor to safeguard it from development and protect the wildlife that lives there
  • Strengthened Florida's environmental regulations to reduce nutrient inputs into the state's waterways and ensure accountability for harming our water
  • Restored the Red Tide Task Force and invested over $40 million to mitigate Red Tide impacts across the state
  • Appointed the state's first Chief Science Officer to ensure environmental policy is evidence-based
  • lnvested a record $5.6-million towards the removal of invasive pythons from the Everglades
  • Secured more than $50 million towards the protection and restoration of manatees and their natural habitats
  • Established the Resilient Florida program to provide grants for fortifying Florida's infrastructure against extreme weather events

Families and Child Welfare

  • Launched the Fatherhood lnitiative to encourage responsible and involved fatherhood in Florida through educational programs, mentorship programs, and one-on-one support
  • Expanded care for new moms by extending postpartum care for low-income mothers
  • Among the nation's ten most populous states, Florida has the lowest percentage of children in foster care for more than five years
  • Bolstered Florida's Pregnancy Support Services Program to address the needs of expectant mothers and prepare them for motherhood
  • lmplemented multiple sales tax holidays to help families combat inflation and save money on necessities such as diapers and school supplies
  • Protected the right of houses of worship to remain open during the pandemic


Infrastructure

  • Budgeted over $9 billion in the past two years for constructing new highways and resurfacing existing roadways across the state
  • Engineered the relocation of global shipping companies to Florida after California's failed ports caused massive backlogs and supply chain disruptions
  • Authorized the Broadband Opportunity Program to assist with broadband connectivity in rural and underserved areas of the state
  • Secured record funding for Florida ports to mitigate impacts from nationwide supply chain disruptions
  • Allocated over $750 million since 2021 to repair and replace hundreds of bridges in this state
  • lnvested $13 million in the expansion of Cecil Airport in Jacksonville, constructing nearly two miles of roadway and more than doubling the number of jobs at the facility

Veterans
 
  • Directed more than $12 million in funds for infrastructure, workforce education, and job creation in military communities
  • Provided a tuition waiver for disabled veterans attending Florida's colleges and universities
  • Dedicated $7.8 million to initiatives to help veterans find new jobs and transition to civilian life
  • Solidified a pathway for veterans to obtain a temporary teaching certificate while in the process of earning their bachelor's degree
  • Allowed veterans to receive college credit for their time and education acquired in the military
  • Developed a suicide prevention training program that connects veterans with needed support networks
  • Created the Governor's lnitiative on Lawyers Assisting Warriors to provide military members with pro bono legal services from Florida's leading law firms
