Homelessness and Cost of Living

• Restore hope and eliminate the unsheltered homelss crisis in both urban and rural Oregon

• Expand supploy of housing, reduce government regulations and stimulate economic growth
 • Failed to address homelessness and now Oregon ranks near the top of all U.S. states in unsheltered homeless population

• Ignored rural Oregon's high unemployment rates and skyrocketing cost of living increases all across the state


Government Spending and Skyrocketing Pension Costs

• No new spending bills without government employee pension reform first

• Balance the budget without increasing taxes and adopt Governor Ted Kulongoski's reform agenda to make state government more effective
 • Supported $14 billion in new taxes on working families and small businesses

• Added to the $25 billion pension crsis by letting government union bosses and special interests control her agenda


High School Graduation Crisis

• Move Oregon graduation rates from bottom five to top five nationally and restore lost school days

• Support our teachers, principals and faculty and expand opportunities for career and technical education
 • Under Brown, 1 in 4 high school students did not graduate – more thn 25,000 children in just the last three years

• Ignored the pension crisis which kept funding out of our classrooms and dramatically reduced days in school
