But I'll keep fighting to solve problems and create jobs.
Patty Murray Is Breaking Through Gridlock and Partisanship To Make A Difference For Us
Protecting Women's Health and Safety
When Republicans tried to shut clown the government to block funding for Planned Parenthood's critica! health services, Patty Murray fought back to keep the government open and funding secure. When they blocked the Violence Against Women Act and denied sorne women protection against domestic abusers, Patty didn't throw up her hands in outrage - she kept working, brought both parties together, and ensured ali women were protected under the law.
Fighting For Better Veterans Care
In the face of unconscionable delays in care, Patty is holding bureaucrats accountable and battling to bring health care and jobs faster and closer to veterans. She helped create new health clinics across our state while increasing job training and employment services to help servicemembers transition to civilian life.
Standing Up For Children and Working Families
After hearing from so many parents and teachers that No Child Left Behind simply wasn't working for them, Murray led the effort to rewrite the law to reduce unnecessary testing and make it work for Washington state schools.
With millions of working families forced to choose between their livelihood and their family's health, Murray is working to guarantee paid sick leave for workers to recover from short-term illness, care for a sick family member, see a doctor, or seek assistance related to domestic violence.
