Sen. Mike Lee easily won a second term, gaining 68.15% of the vote and defeating grocery store cashier Misty K. Snow (D) as well as Stoney Fonua (IAP) and Bill Barron (I).  Snow, a millennial and a progressive, won the June 28 Democratic primary becoming the first transgender nominee of a major party for U.S. Senate.  A debate between Lee and Snow, hosted by the Utah Debate Commission, took place on Oct. 12 in KBYU studios at Brigham Young University (>).  According to the FEC, for 2015-16 the Lee campaign reported disbursements of $4.0 million compared to $35,706 for the Snow campaign (>).
