 SC State Election Commission

Notes:
Sen. Tim Scott, first elected in a special election in 2014, won a full term with little difficulty, defeating pastor and activist Thomas Dixon.  Dixon had three ballot lines: Democratic, Working Families, and Green.  Also on the ballot were Bill Bledsoe (Libertarian / Constitution) and Rebel Michael Scarborough (AMR).  Bledsoe, a veterinarian from Spartanburg, attracted notice by holding "long gun" rallies.  There was a debate between Scott and Dixon at Furman University on Oct. 24 (>).  The FEC reported for 2015-16 the Scott campaign made total disbursements of $4.8 million compared to $40,642 for Dixon (>).
