Plurality: 624,981 votes (43.16 percentage points). OK State
Election Board
Notes: Sen. James Lankford (R), first elected in a Nov. 2014 special election, had no difficulty winning a full term, defeating former teacher and political consultant Mike Workman (D) of Tulsa. Workman, who had run for Oklahoma Labor Commissioner two years earlier, ran a very low-budget campaign, less than $5,000, mainly traveling to various events around the state. There were no debates. Also on the ballot were Robert Murphy (L) and independents Sean Braddy and Mark Beard. According to the FEC for 2015-16 the Lankford campaign reported disbursements of $2.8 million; the only other candidate to cross the reporting threshold was the independent Braddy who spent $13,241 (>). . |
