Sen. Chuck Grassley (R), first elected to the Senate in 1980, won a seventh term, handily defeating former Lt. Gov. Patty Judge (D) and several other candidates.  The Judge campaign had difficulty gaining traction and brought on a new manager in July.  According to the FEC for 2015-16 the Grassley campaign reported disbursements of $11.0 million compared to $2.3 million for the Judge campaign (+).
