ABOUT MARGARET
A retired Lieutenant Colonel, Margaret Stock served her country in the U.S. Army Military Police Corps for 28 years. At West Point, she taught constitutional and national security law. She has testified before numerous congressional committees and has served on important state and national boards and commissions. Margaret Stock is a graduate of Harvard Law School, the Kennedy School of Government. and the Army War College. The oath she took to protect the Constitution and the nation is the oath she lives by today. She isn't a politician, and she doesn't represent a party. Margaret Stock is a 2013 MacArthur Genius Award winner, a wife and mother, a retired soldier, and an Alaska resident since 1986.

She is the breath of fresh air needed in Alaska politics.

ABOUT THE RACE
Washington is broken and we need fundamental change. We need leaders who put people ahead of political party, who are independent of Wall Street and corporate interests, and who are not afraid to do what's right – even if it angers the powerful.

Senator Murkowski has changed for the worse. She doesn't stand her ground. She is a Washington politician who does what national party leaders tell her to do and has forgotten the people she was elected to serve.

Margaret Stock is not a politician. She is a patriot who served her country in our war on terrorism, a scholar acknowledged as a national expert on immigration and national security, a gifted advocate for individuals against powerful interests, and an independent voice for change.

ISSUES
We can't afford more of the same old, out-of-control partisanship.

The challenges facing Alaska and our nation are too great. While Congress squabbles, families struggle, our infrastructure crumbles, and outside threats jeopardize our national security.

We need a sound energy policy-one that supports the interests of every Alaskan. We need a Congress that will exercise oversight to get our debt under control, instead of adopting mindless sequestration rules that threaten our military readiness.

When the federal government fails, we must fix the problem. Margaret believes that government must be smart and efficient so that it can fulfill its critical functions, support pressing research, maintain transportation infrastructure, and provide for our common defense. We must also protect the programs that secure us at home – we can save Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, and health care by cutting out the special interests.

Alaskans value their Constitutional rights to liberty and privacy and their right to be free from government intrusion. Margaret will fight to protect all our Constitutional rights, including a woman's right to choose, marriage equality, and the Second Amendment.
