INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE  US SENATE

I'm Thomas Ravenel, INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE candidate for U.S. Senate.

I am running as an Independent because the two parties have formed one corrupt ruling class, and the first priority for members of both parties is to stay in power.

Every law that comes out of the Washington Ruling Class means more power for them and less freedom for us!

I say it is time to take a stand! I have been a businessman, so I know what it is like to fight big government. I am running for the Senate because no one is representing our interests in Washington today – no one is protecting us from an expanding federal government becoming more corrupt as it grows in power.

I care about two things:

YOUR LIBERTY
AND
YOUR PROSPERITY.

Reclaiming both-- not only for ourselves but for our children and for their children will only happen if we send a powerful message to Washington: we will no longer accept what they are offering. I am prepared to deliver that message if you send me to Washington.

THE ISSUES

HEALTHCARE
Obamacare should be immediately repealed and replaced with a free market system allowing interstate competition among insurers and equal tax treatment between individual purchasers and corporations. Federal red tape killing innovation and efficiency should be slashed, improving the quality and the cost of care.

IMMIGRATION
I oppose amnesty for illegal immigrants. Anyone here illegally should never receive welfare benefits or ever have the right to vote in a US election. I embrace legal immigration.

FEDERALISM
Inch by inch, we must reclaim the government our founders intended – a government protecting liberty and promoting prosperity for all.

GUNS
There is only one gun law that law-abiding Americans need to follow:The Second Amendment.

DEFENSE POLICY
I support the vigorous defense and national security of the United States. The Obama administration is decimating critical aspects of our military while diverting resources vital to national security for other political follies.

ECONOMIC POLICY
Lower taxes and less government interference in the marketplace improve the quality of life for every sector of American society. It is only through the free exchange of ideas and capital that our economy can truly prosper. Policy-makers should work to cut taxes, encourage free-trade, reduce the overreach of the regulatory state, rein in the Fed, and encourage true free-market Capitalism.

CUTTING SPENDING
It's no secret government spending is out of control. Current debt is approaching $18 trillion, while unfunded liabilities are well over $100 trillion. Democrats and "Republicans" share the blame, as both parties have supported massive increases in deficit spending and the government's debt ceiling. These spending increases stifle economic growth – depriving our economy of the oxygen it needs to grow and thrive.
