Allen's Top Priorities
Improve the Economy & Create Jobs.
This race isn't about Wall Street; it's about Main Street and as a successful businessman Allen is part of Main Street New Mexico. He knows excessive regulations cripple small business, so he's going to Washington to stop government's over-reach and create an environment where America's businesses can prosper.

Stop Wasteful Spending. Just eliminating half of wasteful and fraudulent spending can create enormous resources our country can use to reduce our debt. Allen believes government should live on a budget, just like our families do and he'll fight for a balanced budget eamndment.

Fix Healthcare.
It's time to get government out of the healthcare business. Obamacare overtaxes, hurts American businesses and families, and limits patient access and choices.

Strengthen National Defense. We live in a dangerous world and the lack of
leadership in Washington puts America at great risk. As a retired Marine Colonel and businessman, Allen knows how to keep America safe while being fiscally responsible and balancing a budget.

As a 38-year Marine Corps veteran, I understand how valuable it is to take care of those who have served our country. As a Senator, having served in conflicts in Vietnam, Somalia, and Iraq, I will be cautious and deliberative when voting on issues that would send our sons and daughters into harms way.

Veterans should have easy access to the VA health care system. In New Mexico, access is fairly limited, particularly for veterans outside the Albuquerque area. I support creating VA satellite locations in rural parts of the state, so that New Mexico veterans won't have to drive long distances for care.

Veterans and military retirees improve our state, our businesses, our economy and our neighborhoods in so many ways because of their leadership and training, and their life-long commitment to service. We want more of them to live in New Mexico.

As Senator, I will work to:

•    Improve VA facilities around the state and veterans access to health care.

•    Improve job opportunities for all veterans, especially those looking to enter the job market after returning to New Mexico from active duty.

•    Ensure that New Mexico's National Guard and Reserve components are fully recognized as veterans with all of the services they deserve.

•    Take care of the men and women currently serving in our Armed Forces. They, and the services they serve in, deserve the best equipment and training, and adequate resources to defend this nation.
