"Education is a promise that we make to each other and to the generations that will follow us that we're strengthening our future today."
– State Senator Wendy Davis

WENDY DAVIS
FOR GOVERNOR

"It's a promise that says in this state, no Texan gets left behind. No one gets counted out."
– State Senator Wendy Davis

Wendy Davis believes that, in Texas, where you start should never determine how far you can go.

At age 19, Wendy was a single mom struggling to make ends meet, but she was determined to make a better life for herself and her daughter. She enrolled in community college, earned a degree from TCU and went on to graduate from Harvard Law School.

After helping start a business, Wendy served on the Fort Worth City Council, where she fought tirelessly to bring almost $1 billion in private investments and over 5,000 new jobs to Fort Worth. In the State Senate, Wendy worked to increase job and education opportunities for returning veterans, fought deep cuts to our schools, worked to crack down on payday lenders, protected Texans' constitutional right to vote, and passed a law to ensure that all DNA evidence in rape cases is tested – so more rapists are caught and convicted.

Wendy knows Texas' greatest strength is that every Texan has a different story, but the same dream: a better life.

Wendy will be a governor who will:

Work to create jobs that pay hardworking Texans enough to raise their families.

• Fight to improve our schools, reduce class sizes and raise our graduation rates.

• Sustain our economic growth by investing in education for the next generation of Texans.

• Fight for all Texans, not just one race, class or gender.

• Work to increase job and education opportunities for returning veterans.
