THE ASTORINO PLAN

CUT TAXES

Andrew Cuomo raised taxes. Rob Astorino will cut taxes, reduce state spending and debt and stop the unfunded mandates from Albany that drive up property taxes.

CREATE JOBS
Astorino will reform the onerous regulatory system, lower business taxes, invest in job training and move forward with natural gas exploration that can create tens of thousands of jobs, billions in new revenue and lower electric bills.

IMPROVE EDUCATION
Cuomo's Common Core is a disaster. Astorino will stop it and replace it with better standards and appropriate curriculum and testing, all set and controlled at the local level with input from principals, teachers and parents.

FIGHT CORRUPTION
Andrew Cuomo is part of the disgraceful Democratic culture of corruption in Albany and is now under investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office. In just the past few years under Andrew Cuomo, several state legislators have been indicted on public corruption charges. Rob will pursue the toughest-in-the-nation ethics reform that includes term limits and loss of pension for any public official convicted of corruption.

STRENGTHEN COMMUNITIES
Cuomo went after law-abiding gun owners. Astorino will go after criminals, illegal guns, and work to address the breakdown in the mental health system. Previously endorsed by environmental groups, Astorino will work to preserve and strengthen our natural resources.

County Executive Astorino recognized Sheriff Moss as a leading member of New York's law enforcement community who could help him clean up the corruption in the State Capital.

A 26-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office, including many years as a Commander and Investigator with the Criminal Investigation Division, he was elected Sheriff in 2005 and was subsequently re-elected in 2009 and 2013.

As President of the New York State Sheriff's Association, Chris Moss has been an outspoken critic of the so-called "SAFE Act" that restricts gunowner rights, and makes no one any safer.

Sheriff Moss has been a leader in combatting drugs, including implementing Operation R.A.M. CRid Area of Methamphetamine) and outfitting deputies with Narcan to reduce heroin overdoses. He also instituted Operation Safe Child, where children's photographs and fingerprints are logged into a database to help in the event that they become missing or lost.

A graduate of the FBI National Academy, Sheriff Moss holds a Master's Degree from Marist College and a Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Empire State College. He is an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman who lives in Elmira, with his wife, Dana, and their eight-year old son, Wyatt.
