BUDGET
- lncreased the budget by 2 billion for ftscal year 2014-15
- lncreased the size of govemment by creating more Commissions and Authorities
- Federal money is "free money"
- Will increase taxes and fees for road funding

ECONOMY & JOBS
- Subsidies, tax breaks, trade barriers, and arbitrary business regulations and licensing laws that reward politlcal favorites.
- Private profit and taxpayer loss
Result: Lack of transparency, slow economic growth, rent seeking and corruption

EDUCATION
- More "investment" (spending)
- Common Core
- Close failed Charter Schools but let failed Public Schools remain open

HEALTHCARE
- lncreased federal deficit by passing Obamacare Medicaid Expansion aka Healthy Michigan
- lncreased Certificate of Need (CON) health facility rationing fees
- Created 1.56 billion dollar Michigan Health Endowment Fund that will raise Blue Cross Blue Shield premiums

FREEDOM
- We can run your life better than you can.
- Democrats: You are free to have sex, preferably with govemment subsidized contraceptives.
- Republicans: You are free to smoke. We know it's bad for you but we need tobacco taxes for our Capitol lmprovement Fund



LIBERTARIANS   

BUDGET
- Government is not a jobs program
- Ellminate big government programs like tho Michigan Economic 0evelopment Corporation th t fail to ke p their promises of job creation
- Reduce federal aid. Each $1 of federal aid costs Míchigan taxpayers 32 to 42 cents
- Use savings to fund the roads or return it to the taxpayer

ECONOMY & JOBS
- Economic freedom.
- Restore personal choice, voluntaryexchange,competition, and secure private property lights.
Result: More investment, faster economic growth, more private sector íobs, higher income and long term prosperity.

EDUCATION
- Parents know best - not govemment
- Stop Common Core
- Break the govemment monopoly - Education is improved by allowing more free market competition
- Creation of Scholarship Tax Credits that will allow low income children to attend prívate schools

HEALTHCARE
- Make healthcare more affordable by elimlnating big govemment controls
- Eliminate the CON and decrease healthcare costs by 10%
- Fund people not programs - Use Health Endowment Fund to assist those who fall through the cracks in existing programs

FREEDOM
- Individual liberty and personal responsibility on all issues at all times.

About Mary
Mary Buzuma is the Chair of the Libertarian Party of Michigan (LPM) and Secretary of the Libertarian Party of West Michigan (LPWM). She was the party's candidate for US Representativa in Congress for the 2nd District in 2012.

Bom and raised in Grand Haven and a graduate of Kalamazoo College with a BA in Political Science she proudly served her country for 26years in the US Navy as an lntelligence Specialist. Her career included 10 tours of duty on both land and sea, in the US and abroad. She was its first Leading Chief Petty Offlcer of a Carrier lntelligence Center. A lover of history as well as politics she is a member of the Tri-Cities Historical Museum where she also volunteers. She was an adult literacy tutor with the Ttdewater Literacy Council while living in Virginia, and served as Treasurer and Vice Chair of the Tidewater Libertarian Party.

About Scotty
Vice-Chair of the Libertarían Party of Michigan, Scotty Boman was bom on the East side and has been a Detroit resident íor most of his life.
An educator for over 20 years he currently is Physics and Math instructor at Wayne County Community College and an Astronomy and Physics instructor at Macomb Community College.
He received a B.S. in Physlcs and Philosophy from Western Michigan University and earned an M.A. in Physics from Western as well.
A long time Libertarían activist and candidate, his effort in 1996 to be elected to the Detroit City Council eamed an endorsement from the Detroit News.
Active in his community he is currently VP of the MEC and a volunteer with the Motor City Makeover and Angels night.
