THE STRONGER COLORADO PLAN

BOB BEAUPREZ: STANDING UP FOR COLORADO

It's a governor's job to lay out a clear vision, make tough decisions and stand up for Colorado. Sometimes that means saying no to Washington and outside special interests. Too often John Hickenlooper refuses to make decisions; when he does, they are heavily influenced by outside interests like Barack Obama or wealthy donors.

FOCUS ON EDUCATION
Bob believes a great education is key to opportunity. Bob is a decisive leader focused on improving education for Colorado kids.
   As governor, Bob Beauprez will:
•  Give parents and local communities more choices and control over education.
•  lmprove reading instruction and mentoring programs.
•  Promote Colorado standards and stop President Obama's one-size-fits-all Washington mandates.
•  Pass a Teachers' Bill of Rights, allowing teachers to innovate and run their own classrooms.
•  Offer flexible vocational and technical training so high schoolers can develop career-ready skills.

IMPROVE PUBLIC SAFETY
Bob will make the tough decisions and improve public safety. Endorsed by the Colorado Springs Police Protective Association and two-thirds of Colorado Sheriffs, Bob will stand with our local law enforcement.
   As governor, Bob Beauprez will:
•  Reform mental health, sentencing and parole so violent criminals aren't released directly into our neighborhoods.
•  Pass a Felony DUI bill to stop serial drunk drivers.
•  Respect the jury's decision on the death penalty for Nathan Dunlap and never forget the victims.
•  Protect the Constitutional Rights of law-abiding Colorado citizens

MAKE COLORADO COMPETITIVE
Colorado is lagging behind our neighboring states. Bob will help Colorado be more economically competitive regionally by creating an environment where businesses thrive and opportunity abounds.

    As governor, Bob Beauprez will:
•  Audit State Government People cringe at being audited by government It's time to turn the tables and audit state government to cut regulations and create jobs.
•  Energize our economy by responsibly developing Colorado energy and reduce our reliance on Middle East oil
•  Keep Colorado fees and taxes low.
•  Veto all job-killing legislation.

JOHN HICKENLOOPER'S RECORD OF FAILURE:
FAILED LEADERSHIP ON EDUCATION
•  Test scores fell, particularly in 3rd grade reading (Denver Post).
•  Colorado dropped to soth for returning our federal education tax dollars (Census Bureau).
•  Broke his promise by pushing a $1 Billion/year tax hike doing little to improve education (AP, Denver Post).

FAILED LEADERSHIP ON THE ECONOMY
•  Under Hickenlooper, Colorado dropped from 2 to 22 in Economic Outlook (ALEC).
•  5 states surrounding Colorado have better employment numbers (Dept. of Labor).
•  Real Unemployment in Colorado remains nearly 11%(Dept. of Labor).
•  Shamefully Colorado has the 3rd fastest-growth rate of childhood poverty (Hunger Free CO).
•  Hickenlooper refuses to take a position on Keystone Pipeline, saying "it's just going to p--- off a lot of people in Washington ... " (Fox 31 Denver).

FAILED LEADERSHIP ON PUBLIC SAFETY
• More than 100 violent prisoners/year released from solitary confinement into our neighborhoods, only to re-offend (Denver Post).
• Granted brutal Chuck E. Cheese mass murderer Nathan Dunlap a "temporary reprieve", leaving the decision-and justice-to the next governor (Denver Post).
• As Denver Mayor, supported early release-giving 2,600 criminals a get-out-of-jail free card (Denver Post).
• Failed to pass a felony DUI bill despite 133 drunk driving-related deaths in 2012 (Denver Post).
• Refused to talk with Colorado sheriffs and instead listened to New York Mayor Bloomberg and the Obama Administration (Denver Post).
• Signed partisan and unenforceable laws limiting the rights of law-abiding Coloradans (Denver Post).
