Doug Ducey:
Conservative Values for Arizona

Doug grew up the son of a policeman in Toledo, Ohio. He moved to Arizona to attend ASU, where he studied finance, and after graduating, he began his career in business. Doug worked hard, earned his success in the private sector, got married and started a family. Eventually, he ran Cold Stone Creamery, which he helped grow from a handful of ice cream shops in Tempe to over 1,400 locations worldwide.

Like many citizens, Doug became alarmed at the government growth rate and massive expansion of debt and spending. He decided the best way to make a difference was to get involved, so in 2010 he ran for public office and was elected Arizona State Treasurer. As governor, he wants to build on his experience in both the public and private sectors to make Arizona the top state for economic growth, job creation, education, and opportunity for all.

STOP OBAMA

From Obamacare to the IRS to the EPA and crippling new regulations on small businesses, the power grabs coming from the Obama administration are unprecedented, and we must push back on them at every opportunity. Doug will pursue every available means to negotiate a Medicaid waiver for Arizona and protect our state from Obamacare, one of the worst laws ever signed by any American president.

TAXES
In 2012, Doug Ducey led the fight against Prop 204, which stopped a temporary $1 billion-per-year sales tax increase from becoming permanent. As governor, he will submit legislation to reduce taxes every year, with the goal of driving income tax rates down to zero.

FAMILY
A proud husband and father to three sons, Doug is a true family man. He is endorsed by the Arizona Right to Life PAC and will defend the most fundamental right of any person - the right to life.

2ND AMENDMENT
Doug will defend our fundamental right to keep and bear arms and uphold Arizona's solid protections for gun owners, hunters and sportsmen.

EDUCATION
As governor, Doug will focus on the moral imperative of improving education in Arizona and giving parents more choices. He will resist overreach from the federal government, including Common Core, and local control and ensure accountability in our school system.

What Others Are Saying

"Doug Ducey demonstrates the kind of conservative, common-sense leadership that our party needs in Arizona," Gov. Walker said. "He's not afraid of taking on tough challenges, and that's why I know he'd be a great Governor."

- Scott Walker,
Governor of Wisconsin

" ... Arizona's current treasurer and probable next governor has shown he has the skills to assemble coalitions that can win. He has learned well the lesson that no matter how good a campaign's tactics are, you have to give the voters something worth voting for."

ARIZONA ROADMAP TO OPPORTUNITY AND FREEDOM

From the desk of
Doug Ducey
GOVERNOR

Dear Fellow Arizonan:

It's the question I get asked the most. ''As governor, what will your agenda be?"

Here it is. This "Roadmap to Opportunity and Freedom" is designed to give voters a clear explanation of what the state's priorities are; how a Ducey administration would approach these key issues; and what you could expect in my term as governor.

At Cold Stone Creamery I learned how to set priorities and get results. Running a government is different than growing a business, but many of the same principles apply. Our next governor needs to:
•    Promote policies – such as lowering taxes and spending less – that spur private sector job creation and restore economic growth to our state.

•    Improve education. It's a moral imperative. Every day that our kids spend in under-performing schools is limiting their future. This isn't about money – it's about quality choices and accountability, and I address those in detail in this booklet.

•    Help Arizona chart its own path by getting out from under the thumb of the federal government. From Obamacare to the IRS to all the new regulations on small businesses, the level of control that's coming from the Obama administration is unprecedented, and we need to push back on it at every opportunity.

•    Safeguard the lives and liberties of our citizens. We must defend against infringements on the constitutional right to keep and bear arms; fully enforce the rights of crime victims; and make the protection of Arizona children from criminal abuse and neglect the first priority of our laws.

•    Promote a just and compassionate society. We need to encourage across our state a culture of life in which the most vulnerable and needy are not viewed as a problem, but as a priority.
All these issues and more are addressed in the following pages. Please take time to read this, and visit the campaign website at www.dougducey.com

And if this is the path you'd like Arizona to follow, I hope I can count on your vote in the Republican primary on August 26!

Sincerely,

Doug
