ABOUT MAYOR STEVE LONEGAN

Steve Lonegan is New Jersey's number one champion for individual liberty and opponent of growing government programs.

As Bogota's Mayor, Lonegan kept taxes below inflation by keeping spending below inflation and freezing municipal debt. That's why Steve was reelected and kept GOP council control for eleven straight elections in a town that President Obama won by better than 2-1!

While serving as Mayor, Steve found that his job fighting for taxpayers took him beyond municipal borders. He led the fight to stop McGreevey's gasoline tax hike, end state debt without voter approval, defeat taxpayer-funded embryonic stem cell "research" and battle political correctness. Steve organized citizens to convince Governor Christie to take New Jersey out of the RGGI Cap and Trade scheme, stop the Obamacare exchange and fight increases in the state income tax. Steve Lonegan champions our American values. He is outspoken, independent and for the people. That's the kind of leader New Jersey needs in the U.S. Senate.

Steve Lonegan was born in Teaneck's Holy Name Hospital on April 27, 1956. He graduated from Ridgefield Park High School where he set several high school track records. Steve earned a B.A. in Business Administration from William Paterson College where he was Football Team Capta in and an AII-Conference Division Center. He later earned an M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Steve built and managed retail, custom homebuilding and manufacturing businesses employing dozens of workers.

Steve and his wife Lorraine (Rossi) live in Bogota and have two adult daughters: Katherine (Parany) and Brooke. The Lonegan family attends St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Bogota.
