MASSACHUSETTS
     June 25, 2013 U.S. Senate Special Election

Card - 4" x 9".

Gabriel Gomez is a new generation of Republican leader with a great American story. Gabriel, 47, was born in Los Angeles and is the son of Colombian immigrants.

Gabriel's upbringing instilled in him a duty to give back to his country and led him to successfully seek appointment to the United States Naval Academy, graduating from Annapolis with merit.

Gomez pursued a transfer into the Navy SEALs, an elite unit where only 20 percent of applicants complete the arduous training. Gabriel was warned that if he failed to make the cut, he would lose his status as a Navy pilot. He succeeded, becoming a platoon commander upon completion.

During Gabriel's first detachment as a SEAL platoon commander, he met his wife, Sarah, who was a Peace Corps volunteer as a special education teacher in the West Indies.

Leaving the Navy in 1996, Gabriel went back to school and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. After graduation, he joined the Boston-based investment firm Advent International. Gabriel helped pension funds, endowments, and retirement systems invest for their members' retirement as well as grow smaller, regional businesses. He learned what it takes to help businesses and employees prosper and thrive.

Settling in Cohasset with his wife Sarah and their four children, Gabriel coaches for the Cohasset Youth Baseball and Softball Association. He has also served as a volunteer on a number of town committees, and is the President of the Navy SEAL Foundation of New England.

Today our country is in trouble. We are deeply in debt, our budget is out of control, and we face numerous global threats. Gabriel sees politicians in Washington more willing to bicker and fight than to listen and learn, and too little gets done. Now more than ever, we need a leader in Washington with Gabriel's experience working with others to deliver results. He will fight to earn the people's vote and become the next United States Senator from Massachusetts.

THE GOMEZ PLAN TO REBOOT CONGRESS

1.  LOCK THE REVOLVING DOOR BETWEEN CAPITOL HILL AND K STREET
Lifetime ban on Senators and Congressmen becoming lobbyists.

2.  TERM LIMITS
The President is term limited, House and Senate should be too. We need citizen legislators, not career politicians. Two term limit for newly elected Senators and a three term limit for newly elected Representatives.

3.  NO BUDGET, NO PAY
If Congress misses its budget deadline in any year, then they work without pay for the rest of that year.

4.  BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT
Massachusetts has to balance its budget, and so does every family and every business. The federal government should do the same.

5.  LINE-ITEM VETO
43 states, including Massachusetts, have the line-item veto. Congressional spending can't be controlled without it.

6.  CONGRESSIONAL PAY FREEZE
Members of Congress should get the same pay for the duration of their service.

7.  MANDATORY BLIND TRUSTS FOR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS
An additional safeguard against Congressmen using insider information to enrich themselves.
