Notes: In the most lopsided Senate race of the 2012 cycle, Sen. John Barrasso (R) won election to a full term, defeating Tim Chestnut (D), Albany County Commissioner and photographer, and Joel Otto (CTRY). In the Aug. 21 primaries, Barrasso won 90.2% of 81,469 votes tallied, defeating two challengers, and Chestnut won 54.4% of 16,850 votes tallied. The three general election candidates participated in a debate sponsored by Wyoming Public Radio, the Wyoming Business Report and Wyoming PBS at Central Wyoming College on Oct. 31, 2012 (1, 2). According to the FEC, from Jan. 2009 to Dec. 2012, the Barrasso campaign raised $4.5 million, spent $2.5 million and finished with cash on hand of $2.6 million. |
