FRESH FOCUS ON MAINE'S FUTURE

CREATE JOBS & LOWER TAXES

Small businesses are the job creators of our economy. To help them create jobs, we need to reduce Washington's job-killing regulations and lower taxes to stimulate growth. In Maine, I led the fight to create a small business advocate who has already saved Maine businesses from undue state regulations. We need to have a small business advocate at the national level. We also need to simplify the tax code and help people keep more of what they earn by lowering tax rates.

CUT SPENDING. REDUCE THE DEBT. NO MORE BAILOUTS.

America faces almost $16 trillion in national debt because of President Obama's reckless policies. We shouldn't raise the debt ceiling. We must get spending under control. No more bailouts. Taxpayers should not be responsible for bad corporate management decisions. Our economy has been propped-up by bailouts and "stimulus packages" that have only increased our deficit and sent the tab to our working families.

MAKE HEALTH CARE AFFORDABLE

The new projected cost of Obamacare is an astounding $1.76 trillion. It costs too much, it's reducing our health care choices, it's killing our jobs and it's hurting our economy. We must help provide families relief from the increasing burden of health care by giving them more choices. Businesses and individuals should be able to purchase health insurance like any other insurance - from the lowest cost provider anywhere in the United States. And we need to make the cost of that insurance, like the cost of mortgage interest, 100% deductible from an individuals federal income tax.

ENERGY INDEPENDENCE

Three years ago, gas was $1.81 per gallon. We need to end our dependence on costly foreign oil and stop giving money to countries who are enemies of America. The way we do that is to develop more American resources, like coal, natural gas, and oil. We need to build the Keystone Pipeline which will create thousands of jobs. We need to develop more clean energy technologies and bring the cost of energy down for consumers.
