Attorney General Mark Shurtleff
As the son of Rex Lee, Ronald Reagan's Solicitor General, Mike Lee learned at an early age what it means to be a public servant. Mike is the statesman Utahns can always count on to stand up against the Obama-Reid-Pelosi liberal agenda."

Governor Norm Bangerter
"Mike Lee will help the federal government live within its means. Mike will fight to balance the budget, return power to the states, keep education under local control and free our businesses from excessive regulations. Utah needs Mike Lee in the Senate."

Representative Jim Hansen
"Mike Lee will work to stop the feds from locking up our land. He fought to reopen 77 oil and gas leases in the Uintah Basin, and to maintain public access to roads crossing federal lands. In the Senate, you can count on Mike Lee to keep the federal government off our backs."

5-Step Plan to Return to Limited Government
Congress must reverse the vicious cycle of government expansion by following five critical steps:

1 Reject Deficit Spending and Earmarks

Deficit spending facilitates the continuing growth of the federal government. lt is far too tempting to shift the cost of today's federal expansion to future generations. A balanced budget amendment and a moratorium on earmarks are essential to restoring the original, proper role of the federal government.

2 Retire Lifetime Politicians

A career member of Congress inevitably will come to believe that body has the answer to all social problems. The Constitution should be amended to limit service in each house of Congress to twelve years.

3 Reduce Government Regulations

The answer to an economic downturn is not a government stimulus, but a reduction in government regulation and bureaucracy to allow the natural forces of our prívate enterprise system to rebound without undue interference.

4 Reform the Tax System

Too many Utahns work four or five months out of each year just to pay their bill to the federal government. Until we reform the tax code, the few will continue to carry the tax burdens of the many. Meanwhile, the many will continue to elect representatives who continually redistribute our wealth. Replacing our current tax system with a flat tax (either a flat income tax or a national sales tax) would give all voters an incentive to reduce excessive government spending.

5 Repeal Obama's Unconstitutional Health Care Bill

We must work to defund and repeal Obamacare. Every possible means must be applied within Congress as well as through the application of the Constitution and the law to stop full implementation of this legislation. The real solution to our current health care challenge is found in less government involvement in the process -- not more. We must support meaningful solutions to health care reform. Enabling free market forces to work by allowing insurance companies to sell policies across state lines will also help drive down costs through positive price competition.

Mike Lee:
Renew The American Dream

Mike Lee acquired his appreciation for the Constitution at an early age while while discussing everything from the Due Process Clause to the Second Amendment around the dinner table with his father, Rex Lee, who served as Solicitar General under President Ronald Reagan. Mike attended many of his father's arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court, which gave him a unique understanding of the law and the role of government.

After graduating from law school, Mike clerked for Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, where he gained a more complete understanding of why the Constitution is essential to limiting the size and scope of government in its protection of life, liberty, and property.

Mike and his wife Sharon have been married for 17 years. They live in Utah County where they raise their twin sons and daughter.
