Above: Joe Sestak with President Bill Clinton during Joe's tenure at the White House as Director for Defense Policy.
Above: Joe with his wife, Susan, and daughter, Alex.
A former 3-Star Admiral who served as a top Naval anti-terrorism expert...
Joe commanded the GEORGE WASHINGTON Aircraft Carrier Battle Group in the war in Afghanistan and precursor combat operations in Iraq. He served as President Clinton's Director for Defense Policy and after 9/11, the Navy selected Joe as the first Director of "Deep Blue," the Navy's anti-terrorism unit.
A Congressman who was named the "most productive" in his legislative class...
After his election to Congress, Joe quickly became a champion for working families–from health care and education to the elderly, veterans, and children with autism. In his first three years, Joe's office handled over 15,000 constituent cases–four times the congressional average, working seven days a week.
He's fought to save Pennsylvanian jobs in the face of the worst economic downturn in 80 years...
Joe's efforts have meant saved jobs and tax relief for working families and small businesses. As Vice Chairman of the Small Business Committee, he's fought for middle class fax cuts and worked to fund new industries and technologies, while expanding small business access to capital.
A native Pennsylvanian, he knows our state...
The son of a Navy Captain and high school math teacher, Joe was born
and raised in Delaware County where he lives with his wife, Susan, and daughter, Alex. Joe attended Cardinal O'Hara High School with his brother and six sisters, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and earned a Ph.D. from Harvard University.
