STOPPING WHAT'S WRONG IN WASHINGTON IS RIGHT FOR MISSOURI

Missouri's Very Own
Robin Carnahan

Robin Carnahan is a lifelong Missourian raised in Rolla, where she still manages her family's 900 acre cattle farm.

She's survived breast cancer and family tragedy to become Missouri's strongest advocate for regular folks who don't have inside connections or oversized wallets.

Taking On The Banks To Protect Small Missouri lnvestors

As Missouri Secretary of State, she took on the big banks that made risky investments and never told the truth. Her efforts safely returned more than $10 billion to tens of thousands of investors.

A Complete Ban On Wasteful and Corrupt Earmark Spending

Robin supports an end to all congressional earmarks, the wasteful pork barrel spending that a corrupt Congress doles out in secret deals based on who you know in Washington while sticking Missourians with the bill.

Robin Carnahan has a toughness and strength of character rooted deep in her experiences in rural Missouri. She'll be the one to change Washington. Washington won't change her.

Congressman

Roy Blunt
The Very Worst of Washington

MR. BAILOUT

CBS News said Roy Blunt "did the heavy lifting" for the Bush administration in passing the $700 billion taxpayer bailout of Wall Street in October 2008.1

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch said, "Blunt not only voted for the bailout, he helped engineer its passage as the chief negotiator ... "2

WASTEFUL SPENDING

Blunt's been a "prolific earmarker" and his hometown newspaper said he "allowed earmarks to get out of control. .. "3

He's supported a teapot museum in North Carolina, a center for studying potatoes in Idaho, a bridge to nowhere in Alaska.4

Since Blunt's been in Washington, earmarks have ballooned 700%, costing taxpayers $228 billion. 5

CORRUPTION

Roy Blunt's taken more money from lobbyists than anyone else in Congress.6

Blunt "had numerous connections to Jack Abramoff, his clients and their tainted money." Investigators found Blunt used his office to benefit convicted felon Abramoff's clients.7

Blunt's legislative aide pled guilty to concealing thousands of illegal gifts, and Blunt himself was subpoenaed to testify at the trial of a defense contractor convicted of bribery who also provided Blunt with travel on his corporate jet.8

Robin Carnahan
Determined to Fix What's Broken in Washington

"I learned growing up on the farm, that when something breaks, you fix it.

Washington needs to learn that lesson too."

That's why I'm for:

  • Cutting congressional pay until they balance the budget
  • Banning Members of Congress from ever becoming lobbyists
  • Ending wasteful earmark spending once and for all
