Dear Alaskan,
It's about Alaska. That's the most plain-spoken reason I can give why I am running to represent Alaska families in the United States Senate. Like you I am frustrated by the partisan fights, political grandstanding, and divisive rhetoric of Washington, DC. Alaska families deserve better. Alaskans deserve a U.S. Senator who will always put Alaska first.
Democrats and Republicans share the blame for out-of-control spending, special interest bailouts, and backroom deals. As your next U.S. Senator, I will bring my experience as a local mayor, school board member, educator, and deckhand to fight for Alaska families. I'll fight for continued sensible federal investment in Alaska – to build our roads, airports, hospitals and get the gasline constructed.
Please join with me to fight for Alaska's future.
Scott McAdams
What I Stand For:
Fighting for Alaska's Fair Share of Federal lnvestment
Alaska needs a senator willing to fight for our fair share of federal investment. Unlike my opponent, I will continue the fight of Senator Ted Stevens to bring critical funding home to Alaska for roads, education, Denali KidCare, energy development and police.
Bringing Fiscal Responsibility to Washington and Protecting Taxpayers
lt's far past time to restore fiscal discipline to Washington. I will demand that repaid bailout funds will go toward paying down the national debt. I support an immediate three-year spending freeze and a real bipartisan debt commission to slash wasteful spending. When I get to the Senate, I will take a 5 percent pay cut even if the rest of Congress refuses. I will also fight against calls by my opponent for a new national sales tax that will do away with the mortgage tax deduction.
Developing Alaska's Natural Resources
Alaska has incredible opportunities right now but they are being blocked by the national politics and special interests. I will fight to open ANWR, build the gasline and responsibly develop offshore oil and gas resources. I will fight for Alaska's fair share of royalties from these projects and use the revenues to develop renewable energy like wind, geothermal, hydro and biofuels. Developing our resources will create good jobs and affordable energy for America in a global marketplace.
Standing Up for Alaska's Seniors
I believe in keeping our promises to Alaska seniors and understand the importance of Social Security and Medicare to Alaskans. In the Senate, I will fight against all attempts to raid the Social Security Trust Fund. I will work to lower Medicare premiums and increase Medicare reimbursements for doctors.

Democrats and Republicans share the blame for out-of-control spending, special interest bailouts, and backroom deals. As your next U.S. Senator, I will bring my experience as a local mayor, school board member, fisherman, and parent of three to stand up for Alaska families. I'll fight for continued sensible federal investment in Alaska - to build our roads, airports, hospitals and get the gasline constructed.
Please join with me to fight for Alaska's future.

"Scott McAdams understands that Alaska's Senate seat is not about a national political agenda. It's about Alaska."
"Lisa & Joe don't speak for all Alaskans. Scott McAdams is a moderate voice who wants to bring our state together and chart a better future for Alaska."
"I support Scott McAdams because he's 100% pro-choice and is against the privatization of Social Security and Medicare."
Katie Hurley
Chief Clerk of the Constitutional Convention
With all the news about who's running and who isn't, and who is saying what about whom, sometimes the fundamentals get lost:
Who will stand up for Alaska's families in the United Stated Senate?
Who will vote the way you would on the issues?
To the right, please find a voter guide with Lisa's, Joe's, and my record. All of the sources for the facts come from the public record, questionnaires we filled out, and statements we've made. But don't take my word for it. I encourage you to follow the links, look up the research, and make an educated choice. I know you'll find out I've been fair.
After all, this election isn't about personalities.
It's about who will put Alaska families first.
Regards,
Scott McAdams
Scott McAdams
P.S. I'm not your usual Senate candidate. I was a deckhand in the Bering Sea. I went to college, got married and had three kids. I worked as a teacher and was the mayor of Sitka.
So you know, for me – It's About Alaska.

Joe Miller's radicalism will ship our tax dollars to the lower 48 to protect their neighborhoods and families, while leaving us to find new state and local taxes to pay for our own safety. Alaska deserves its equal share of crime prevention investment, but Joe rejects it. |
