Governor Earl Ray Tomblin hit the ground running — creating jobs and cutting taxes

At A Time When Many West Virginians Are Hurting Financially, Tomblin Believes We Should Lower Taxes, Not lncrease Them.

Vetoed Driver's License And Registration Fee Hikes
That's why when the legislature tried to double driver's license and vehicle registration fees on working West Virginians, Earl Ray Tomblin said no, and vetoed it.

Cut The Food Tax
The newspapers declared the food tax cut was "dead," and the legislature was going to adjourn without taking action. That's when Earl Ray Tomblin stepped in, took on the lobbyists and told the legislature that he would call a special session if they didn't get the job done. As a result, West Virginia families will be paying less at the check-out counter.

Raised Teacher Salaries While Balancing The Budget
To prepare our children for the jobs of tomorrow we have to give them the best education we can today. That's why Earl Ray Tomblin raised teachers' salaries, because he believes we need to give these dedicated professionals the tools they need to provide our children with a world-class education.

The Wheeling lntelligencer said that Governor Tomblin did the right thing, and had Governor Earl Ray Tomblin not used his line-item veto power responsibly, this might have been a year of net tax increases for West Virginians.

That's the kind of leadership we need here in West Virginia.
That's why we need to vote for Earl Ray Tomblin in the Democratic primary on May 14th.
