RNC, TRUMP CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCE LEADERSHIP FOR 2024 REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION'S PLATFORM COMMITTEE

MILWAUKEE – Today, the Republican National Committee (RNC) and Trump Campaign announced the leadership of the 2024 Republican National Convention’s Committee on the Platform:

Randy Evans, Former Ambassador to Luxembourg, will serve as executive director of the committee. Russ Vought, former director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) during the Trump administration, will serve as the committee's policy director. Lastly, Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles and the Eagle Forum Education & Legal Defense Fund, will serve as deputy policy director of the Platform Committee.

"They each have a proven track record of understanding and implementing our party’s America First agenda, and their sound judgement and principled vision will be critical to help lead our party and country to victory in one of the most significant elections of our lifetimes. The Republican Party is well equipped to lead an American revival by upholding our commitment to liberty and economic prosperity for all Americans under a second Trump administration.”

Background:

  • The Republican National Convention's Platform Committee is comprised of one man and one woman from each state and territory. The committee will meet to outline the Republican Party's core principles and values.
  • In addition to serving as Ambassador to Luxembourg, Ambassador Evans is an American lawyer, author, and speaker. Evans has previously served as the Chair of the Republican National Lawyers Association, a Georgia State Election Board member, and co-chair of the Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission. Evans has been a delegate to multiple national conventions, served as the floor leader of the 2015 Rules Committee, and has been a presidential elector in multiple presidential elections. Evans is currently a senior partner at a transnational law firm with offices worldwide.
  • Director Vought joined the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) when President Trump took office. He first served as acting director and then as the 42nd director for nearly two years. He was a member of President Trump’s cabinet and was responsible for overseeing the implementation of the president's policy agendas across the executive branch. Before serving in the Trump administration, Vought spent nearly 20 years working in Congress and with grassroots and public policy organizations.
  • Martin was personally selected by Phyllis Schlafly to succeed her as the president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles and the Eagle Forum Education & Legal Defense Fund. Martin is a lawyer with advanced degrees in medical ethics and philosophy. Martin has served as Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party, a Republican National Committee member, and chief of staff to Missouri Governor Matt Blunt. Martin co-authored the 2016 New York Times bestseller The Conservative Case for Trump. He served as a special assistant to Pope John Paul II in 1997 at the Synod.
