Pressing Battleground Infrastructure Advantage, Harris-Walz Launches Biggest Weekend of Action Ever As Republicans’ Concerns Grow with Trump’s Scant Operation
GOP Strategist: “I’m Very Worried About the Get-Out-The-Vote Effort on the Republican Side”
REPORT: “Party Leaders, RNC Members, and Lawmakers Have Privately Trashed What They See As a Lack of a Clear Operation”
The Harris-Walz campaign is launching a historic Weekend of Action to mobilize battleground voters. This will be the campaign's largest weekend of action to date, with over 25,000 volunteer shifts and 4,000 events across battleground states. The Harris campaign’s weekend effort dwarfs Trump’s weak field operation, with Republican Party leaders increasingly ringing the alarm about their lack of ground game.
With just 39 days until the election, the Harris campaign is mobilizing its diverse coalition and finding innovative ways to reach voters. This weekend of action includes everything from a Wine, Women and West Wing event in Georgia to a Freedom Brunch in Pennsylvania and Politics in the Playground in Minnesota. Key surrogates for the Harris-Walz campaign will also be barnstorming the battlegrounds, including Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez, former Jacksonville mayor Alvin Brown, Shonda Rhimes, and more.
This Weekend of Action comes as multiple reports show growing GOP concerns over Trump’s lack of ground game:
-
“There is no tangible evidence that Trump and the RNC have invested in the kind of ground game that you need in a turnout election,’ a Republican operative in a swing state said.” — NBC News
-
“‘I’m as plugged in as they get — and yet I don’t even know who my friends and family back home can contact for a yard sign or to knock doors in their precinct,’ a Republican operative who votes in a swing state told Semafor.”
-
“‘I’m very worried about the get-out-the-vote effort on the Republican side,’ said one GOP strategist who is supportive of former President Trump.” — The Hill
-
“Republican officials are raising the alarm that Donald Trump’s campaign has invested far fewer resources for its voter turnout operationin battleground states than previous presidential election races, and attempts to bridge the gap with political action committees have come too late.” — The Guardian
“We’ve spent over a year building
a massive battleground advantage over the Trump operation.
With just 39 days left, we are pushing our edge on the
ground to underscore the stakes of this election to the
voters who will decide this election,” said
Battleground States Director Dan Kanninen. “The
margins in this race will be razor-thin, and we are
dedicated to leaving it all out on the field. This
campaign will be relentless in making sure voters know
Vice President Harris’ agenda for a New Way Forward and
how that stands in stark contrast with the Trump Project
2025 plans to take us backwards.”
This Weekend of Action builds off Vice President Harris’ robust travel schedule this week, including Pennsylvania on Wednesday, Arizona today, and Nevada on Sunday, where she is speaking directly to battleground voters about her plans to improve their lives and make the country safer.
