Libertarian Jorgensen rallies for ballot access in Wisconsin visit

Presidential nominee available for media in Oshkosh on Saturday

OSHKOSH, Wisc.—  Dr. Jo Jorgensen, the Libertarian presidential candidate, will be attending events this Saturday in Wisconsin to rally supporters and especially petitioners striving to place her on the ballot in the Badger State.

The third-largest party expects to reprise their 50-state (plus D.C.) ballot access this year.  Wisconsin is one of 13 states where petitioning efforts continue in high gear, despite the lockdowns imposed by governors concerned over the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I am eternally grateful to our cadre of dedicated petitioners," said Dr. Jorgensen. "Democrats and Republicans would rather not have to compete with a candidate representing real change for real people, but the petitioners here are going above and beyond to ensure that their fellow Wisconsin voters have a real choice in November."

Jorgensen’s platform is focused on smaller government and greater individual freedom, strictly following the national Libertarian Party (LP) platform.

LP of Wisconsin Chair Matt Bughman said he is delighted to be welcoming his party’s presidential nominee to the area. "Signing a petition to get Dr Jorgensen on the ballot in Wisconsin is the most important thing that Dr. Jorgensen’s supporters in Oshkosh can do this weekend," said the Milwaukee resident. "If Americans want to see more choices, the ballot is where it all starts."

Petitions must be submitted in Madison by Aug. 4.

Dr. Jorgensen’s Saturday itinerary in Oshkosh (subject to change) is as follows:
9–11:45 A.M. — Availability for media interviews
1:30–3:30 P.M. — Campaign rally at Leach Amphitheater: 303 Ceape Ave.
5:30–7:30 P.M.  — Ticketed social event with supporters: Oshkosh Convention Center, 2 North Main St.
8–10 P.M. — Private fundraising dinner event
